CIFOR is sponsoring a video competition on the topic of why forests are vital to a sustainable future. All languages are welcome, although non-English videos must have English subtitles.

We want you to tell the world how forests fit into the bigger picture. Make a video – of no longer than 2 minutes – showing why forests are vital to a sustainable future. We will help to get your message out there by promoting your video on our website, Facebook and Twitter.

Just as you don’t need to be near forests to benefit from them, you don’t have to be standing in a forest to show the world why they matter. You might be living in a city or out on the farm, you might be using a fancy camera, holding out your phone, or making animations on your computer – the only limit is your imagination.

The competition offers prizes of US$4 thousand (winner chosen by judges) and US$1 thousand (winner chosen by online voting).
